This latest gem comes to us from Doc Reevez(top) co-produced by Jesus Himself who has his own 5 part series coming soon called Beat Masters. This track is off of Doc's "Dead See Scrolls". On "While It Lasts" Doc talks about his connection with his chick and delivers the material like only Doc can. This track is ultra fresh! Stream, download, and enjoy. DWNLD DEAD SEE SCROLLS
Asher Roth; some people love em and others hate em. At HHHS we appreciate good hip hop and if you try to say that "Common Knowledge" is anything but then you're lying to yourself. The video is dope, the beat is fresh, and AR went in on the lyrics. Hip Hop is alive and kicking so stop hating and start celebrating. Diversify those Ipods people!
J-Sass recently released her latest video "Whispers" via youtube. The song comes off her "Diary Of A Female MC" project and the video is directed by Lyte Epps. JS talks about coming up as an MC and describes some of the reactions she's received along the way which makes the sample that is used for the hook "They just stare and whisper where ever I go" very fitting. From the song to the video over all it was a job well done. As a special holiday treat there's some eye candy at the end of the video, enjoy!
We've had this album on heavy rotation since we received the press kit. This album is right at home with HHHS. This is classy music baby and there is no doubt about it! Grab a sifter of your favorite cognac, light up a fat chunky cigar, and get ready for a smooth ride. So far FALL is our favorite track on the album "Head over heels but I won't hit the ground, I'm levitating, wishing on a cloud" is just an example of the fresh verbal skill laid down by Earl Grey and the style Dianetics brings to the production is unrivaled. If you're from NJ you need to check out that ODE TO NJ, enjoy the album!
I recently linked up with Mr. Mustart to talk to him about doing my next album cover in which he agreed. I came across this interview with him over the weekend and thought it was an interesting view into his world.
This is the latest video from Scheme featuring Astonish. I got put on to Scheme about a year or two ago and I'm diggin his sound. "Hello(What Up?) was done in b/w which is always a good look and is track that lends itself to the mainstream feel while maintaining its roots in the sound Scheme is known for.
DPS - Damage Per Second comes to us from Italy. Though most of you may not understand the lyrics the language of music is universal and is communicated through feeling. From the start of the video through the end viewers are on edge every second wondering what will happen next. The beat is sick, the cuts were precise and on point, and the burner at the end was off the chain!
"What Goes Around" was produced by Ill Mentillz and written, mixed, shot, and edited by Newark, NJ's own Donnie Gates. DG has also released a mixtape digitally via Soundcloud "The Commodity vol 1"
This crew is dope and their hip hop definitely has Soul. The Committee is a group made up of 5 members four MC's (GodseNt, Ceaze, JrZ, and Eli RootZ) and a singer (Idania). "We were put here to expand your mind and re-evaluate not only what is considered to be Hip Hop & RnB, but music in general, ideas and thoughts, originality, and also bring back the excitement and true enjoyment of great music being spread to the masses by serious artists who take the initiative to connect with their fans." The Next chapter is a great hip hop album with heavy jazz and soul elements combined with great lyric content. Hats off to the committe. Download this project and share it with your friends. http://www.facebook.com/TheCommittee201
A flow unlike any you've heard before. Toke delivers a rhythmic cadence through and through. "Get Em" was directed, filmed, edited, and produced by Frank G aka The ISH. The beat is rooted in the classic boom bap drums with a synthesized/flanged overlay, a smooth melody, and a knocking bass line. In the video starring Mr. INC the main shot is a performance by Toke which cuts back and forth to a story line where his girl is cheating on him. He tracks her down and catches her in the act which leads to the final shot with her and the Mr. INC tied up about to be murdered. The song and video for "Get Em" show good execution all around by the team that took part.
This track has a dope beat, content with depth, and I'm feeling the hook. The tone of the singers voice carries well. "Beautiful Life" is feel good music with a message. Play it in your ciphers or at your bbq's, either way they won't be mad at you.
WizeWiggy - A Jersey City vet that commands the respect of a battle tested platoon leader delivers a one hitter quitter with "Mind Of A Madman". This MC is a product of the Jersey City I know, not the one you see developing today. When you come up in a harsh environment like the old Jersey City everyday is a war and you have to be on point 24-7. This track is a message to all the so called "thugs" and "gangstas" that real g's do what they do because they have or had to not because it sells records. Nothing about this track is pretty but it is definitely a beautiful thing! 201 you should be on your feet already so instead of saying "Stand Up" I'm going to say lets march!!
