Asher Roth; some people love em and others hate em. At HHHS we appreciate good hip hop and if you try to say that "Common Knowledge" is anything but then you're lying to yourself. The video is dope, the beat is fresh, and AR went in on the lyrics. Hip Hop is alive and kicking so stop hating and start celebrating. Diversify those Ipods people!

WHISPERS

J-Sass recently released her latest video "Whispers" via youtube. The song comes off her "Diary Of A Female MC" project and the video is directed by Lyte Epps. JS talks about coming up as an MC and describes some of the reactions she's received along the way which makes the sample that is used for the hook "They just stare and whisper where ever I go" very fitting. From the song to the video over all it was a job well done. As a special holiday treat there's some eye candy at the end of the video, enjoy!

I recently linked up with Mr. Mustart to talk to him about doing my next album cover in which he agreed. I came across this interview with him over the weekend and thought it was an interesting view into his world.

HELLO (What Up?)

This is the latest video from Scheme featuring Astonish. I got put on to Scheme about a year or two ago and I'm diggin his sound. "Hello(What Up?) was done in b/w which is always a good look and is track that lends itself to the mainstream feel while maintaining its roots in the sound Scheme is known for.

DAMAGE PER SECOND

DPS - Damage Per Second comes to us from Italy. Though most of you may not understand the lyrics the language of music is universal and is communicated through feeling. From the start of the video through the end viewers are on edge every second wondering what will happen next. The beat is sick, the cuts were precise and on point, and the burner at the end was off the chain!

This crew is dope and their hip hop definitely has Soul. The Committee is a group made up of 5 members four MC's (GodseNt, Ceaze, JrZ, and Eli RootZ) and a singer (Idania). "We were put here to expand your mind and re-evaluate not only what is considered to be Hip Hop & RnB, but music in general, ideas and thoughts, originality, and also bring back the excitement and true enjoyment of great music being spread to the masses by serious artists who take the initiative to connect with their fans." The Next chapter is a great hip hop album with heavy jazz and soul elements combined with great lyric content. Hats off to the committe. Download this project and share it with your friends.

TOKE

A flow unlike any you've heard before. Toke delivers a rhythmic cadence through and through. "Get Em" was directed, filmed, edited, and produced by Frank G aka The ISH. The beat is rooted in the classic boom bap drums with a synthesized/flanged overlay, a smooth melody, and a knocking bass line. In the video starring Mr. INC the main shot is a performance by Toke which cuts back and forth to a story line where his girl is cheating on him. He tracks her down and catches her in the act which leads to the final shot with her and the Mr. INC tied up about to be murdered. The song and video for "Get Em" show good execution all around by the team that took part.
